January, 2016, Axel has successfully gone through his heart worm treatment and is doing well at his foster parents home. Due to the fact that he is blind and deaf, the rescue has decided to have Axel become one of our hospice pugs so he can live out the rest of his life with his loving foster parents.

8/15/15, Axel was picked up from a shelter today and is now officially part of our rescue. He is a little boy weighing in at 14 lb. He definitely needs to gain 2-3 lbs. The shelter is guessing that he is between 5 and 6 years old. He was found as a stray in Orlando. He is blind and we are not sure how much hearing he has at this point. He has seen an eye specialist and it has been determined that he will remain blind. He has dry eyes that were not taken care of. He will need to be on cyclosporin drops for the rest of his life to keep his eyes moistened and comfortable. The shelter told us that he is heart worm positive and once he has gained some weight, we will start him on his heart worm treatments. He is an adorable boy, as you can see. Keep checking on his progress.
